NCAA BOWLING SCHOLARSHIPS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE TO WOMEN

The NCAA allows each division 1college bowling program 5 scholarships and each division 2  program is ALSO allowed 5.

Women's bowling is a recent NCAA emerging sport and has now reached the necessary level of sponsorship to support an NCAA championship. NCAA rules allow for a championship for an emerging sport to be established within a year after the minimum sponsorship number is achieved.

Not all athletic scholarships are full ride like football and basketball; so called "head count sports", most are classed as "equivalency sports", like women's bowling. This means that coaches can "share " their allocation between a larger number of athletes.

There are 29 division 1 and 15 division 2 colleges that offer women's bowling scholarships.

There are over 180 club teams currently  in operation at NCAA member schools and it is anticipated that most will change to NCAA status over the next few years.

When you consider these figures and factor in that colleges must grant more scholarships to women because of the application of title IX then it is obvious that college bowling is here to stay and is simply going to get bigger and better.

If you are a young woman bowler who wants to apply for a college bowling scholarship then you should consider attending a showcase or bowling camp.

Your research into the admissions and athletic recruiting process needs to begin way before that. You should start looking into things at the start of your junior year.

Women's bowling in the NCAA is classified as an "equivalency" sport which simply means that the coach can share the scholarship recruiting allocation between a larger number of players.

The Big 12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association is one of the most successful conferences in the NCAA. the league has been established for twelve years.

The team that scored the touchdown has the option of trying to get the ball into the opponent's end zone again in just one running or passing play instead of kicking for the extra point.

A standard croquet set comes with 4 mallets and 4 balls, and you may vary the game - for example, Four players can play independently with one ball each.
