SPORTS and COLLEGE RECRUITING CAMPS

improve your athletic skills and get noticed by the college coach

If it's your dream to go to college on a athletic scholarship or even to just play sport at the intercollegiate  level then you might want to think about attending a college sports camp or showcase. College sports camps can give you additional training and development and sometimes give you exposure to the college sports coaches.

There are a lot of great sports camps that you can go to that will help you improve your athletic skills and some that will have college coaches in attendance to watch you play but my advice would be to select a camp that is run by the colleges and the college coach. You get the best of instruction, you get to see what the coach is looking for and YOU WILL BE SEEN.

I get asked by athletes all the time, "how can I get a coach or scout come to watch me play"?

Well it's a very simple answer, attend a summer camp at the college.

As a high school athlete who aspires to attend college and win an athletic scholarship then you really only have two choices. you can attend an "elite sports training camp", you will get some instruction, but the main aim of these camps is to give you the chance to show your skills in a playing environment. A lot of coaches go to these camps because it gives them the chance to see a large number of top high school players in action at the same time. These camps can be expensive so do your research first, ask for a list of college coaches that are gong to attend. If you are interested in attending a specific university then email the coach, or better yet make a phone call, and let the coach know you will be at the camp.

The College camp is your other option and I think the best, (If your parents can afford both then go for it), you have the coach, his staff and usually some current players in attendance.

Sports camps are fun but remember this: You need to be on your best behavior and be punctual. Coaches want to see how you conduct yourself off the field as well.
